lyrics
Afloat beyond the stratosphere
I'd been giving love away
I'd been taking love for granted
My head just above the water
Just to not be in this alone, float above it all
I'd done my time, become a victim to gravity
And the cosmos of my mind
If there is something to be learned
That every step is altered by this curse
And my will to find out why we're here
Just to suffer on for years
Now every single drawn out doubt
Examined, dissected and measured out
A pronounced bitter truth
Of failures, fears of a future where
I will always feel this cosmic loss
In every waking breath
In every bone and ounce of flesh
Layers of ancient greif,
universal loss entangling
In every hour and day
In every thought or word that's said
An old quantum sorrow,
Enveloping around me
And after all this struggle
The way of nature
I feel hatred coming back
I can't deny this comforting pain
And after all this searching for identity
Our minds are not our own
I feel hatred coming back
I can't deny this comfort in pain
I fear hatred coming back
I can't deny this comforting pain
Afloat beyond the stratosphere
I've been taking love for granted
Adapting to the promise of tragedy
An unforgiving vow of reality
While I'm giving love its' way,
I will always feel this cosmic loss

Couch Slut is a rare band in the noise genre. Influenced by Sonic Youth, lo-fi black metal, and other genres, the lead singer screams over fragmented riffs. Amazing work. Jeff Holt
The Australian instrumental band juxtapose classical pianos and ambient swells with uncompromising, proggy post-metal. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 9, 2023
